The BigDataAfrica App is also a tool for direct citizen engagement. Freely available for download, and operating as a two-way information highway, it is a platform through which citizens can express their needs and communicate their priorities in a safe, easily accessible forum. The data generated by the BDA App is open, public data, and BDAs main goal is to create and maintain open channels of communication between citizens and those who have been tasked with the duty of policy and service delivery thereby creating channels for what we describe as “people-focused policy-making”.
Users can upload photos, text and videos, have instant access to BDAs archive of similar data resources, and receive notifications when new content is available.
